Acceptable Use Policy
The rules for how you may and may not use Buttons. This policy is part of our Terms of Service.
Last updated: April 1, 2026
1. Who This Applies To
This policy applies to everyone who uses Buttons — Users, Creators, visitors, and anyone interacting with our APIs, apps, or websites. It works alongside our Terms of Service and Community Guidelines, which have more context on what's expected of you as a member of the community.
2. Permitted Use
You may use Buttons for lawful purposes, and in particular to:
- Create and share your own content and build a community around it.
- Subscribe to creators, send tips, buy pay-per-view content, and support creators financially.
- Communicate with other users respectfully and lawfully.
- Use our apps on devices and accounts you control.
- Reference Buttons and link to us publicly, subject to our Branding guidelines.
3. Prohibited Use
You must not, and must not help anyone else to:
3.1 Break The Law Or Harm Others
- Use Buttons to do anything illegal, or to infringe anyone else's rights.
- Publish or share content of minors, non-consensual content, or trafficking-related content.
- Publish threats, incitement to violence, or terrorism-related content.
- Harass, bully, dox, or otherwise target people for abuse.
- Promote hate or discrimination based on protected characteristics — race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, disability, gender, sexual orientation, etc.
3.2 Abuse The Platform
- Spam, scam, phish, or run fraud on other users.
- Create, buy or sell fake accounts, fake engagement (likes, follows, subscriptions), or manipulate our ranking systems.
- Evade enforcement — for example, by creating new accounts to bypass a suspension or ban, or by impersonating staff.
3.3 Mess With Infrastructure
- Scrape, crawl, or index Buttons, or access it through automated means, except as explicitly permitted in writing by us or through documented APIs.
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code from our software, except where the law expressly permits.
- Probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of Buttons without our written permission, or interfere with service availability (DoS, rate-limit abuse, etc.).
- Introduce malware, worms, viruses, or any other harmful code, or use Buttons to distribute such code.
- Bypass or disable any access controls, rate limits, paywalls, or age gates.
3.4 Misuse Paid Features
- Share, re-upload, or redistribute a Creator's paid content outside Buttons (including screenshots or screen recordings intended for distribution).
- Use stolen, unauthorized, or fraudulent payment methods.
- Engage in chargeback fraud — filing chargebacks for content that was delivered as described.
4. Security Researchers
We welcome responsible security research. If you think you've found a vulnerability, please report it privately through our responsible-disclosure program and give us a reasonable window to fix it before disclosing publicly. Good-faith research conducted under that program is not a breach of this policy.
5. Consequences
We may respond to violations with any combination of the following:
- Remove or restrict content.
- Apply labels, age gates, or feature limits.
- Suspend, restrict, or permanently terminate the offending account.
- Freeze or claw back payouts related to serious violations or fraud.
- Block IP addresses, devices, or payment methods.
- Refer illegal activity to law enforcement where required or appropriate.
We try to be proportionate, but some violations — for example, child sexual abuse material or serious safety issues — will always lead to immediate, permanent action.
6. Reporting And Appeals
If you see violations of this policy, please report them using the in-app Report option. If you believe an action against your account was a mistake, you can appeal through our Complaints Policy.
